ad-aware se, spybot s%26d, avg free antispy, superantispy , microsoft windows defender.

I use system mechanic 6 (SIX). The newest version is 7 and they are having problems with it. I really recommend 6 though. It is a all over good program. Virus protection, spyware protection, etc.

I used to use a combo of zone alarm and adware se personal. (They are free and you can download them.)

I suggest running at least three programs:

(1) AdAware

(2) SpyBot

(3) Windows Defender

All three of the above programs are free and safe to use.

Windows Defender runs in real time, so it is updating and checking your computer all the time.

With AdAware and SpyBot you need to update and run the program at least once a week (if not more often).
There are two, that when uses together will take care of most anything...

First run adaware. Then run Spybot Search and Destroy. Between the two of them, you will have your bases covered.
